Reality TV star Kate Gosselin admits that two of her eight children are battling anger issues because of a recent divorce.

According to CBS News, Gosselin said that she has taken the pair out of school and hired a private tutor because of their behavioral problems. In an interview with People magazine, she said that the two children have been vocal that they miss their father, Jon Gosselin. The family was made famous by the TV show Jon and Kate Plus 8, which ended in 2009 when the couple announced that they were splitting up.

The two troubled kids are also receiving weekly therapy, Kate Gosselin said during an interview on NBC's Today Show. She reported that the children are benefiting from the one-on-one treatment and their behavior has drastically improved.

According to the National Network for Child Care (NNCC), children can experience severe emotional trauma in the wake of a divorce. The organization said that some kids may withdraw and bury their emotions internally, while some may express their anger and frustration through misbehavior.

The NNCC reports that preteens and adolescents whose parents get divorced may feel betrayed or rejected by one or both of the parents. Furthermore, teenagers are at risk of acting rebellious and engaging in more troublesome behavior.
