Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown is visiting schools throughout Florida in an effort to steer children away from violence and delinquent behavior.
The speedy ballhandler has spearheaded the Ronnie Brown Project, which offers 23 different ways to stop youth violence. On his days off from football, Brown visits schools to promote the message that unhealthy decisions can derail an invididual's dreams.
During a recent appearance at the New Renaissance Middle School, Brown shared some of his personal stories. His parents went to jail when he was a child, so he learned that troublesome behavior can split apart a family.
In addition, he talked about his driving-under-the-influence arrest that occurred this past March. He told the kids that he had learned from his mistakes and acquired another important lesson that bad decisions have consequences.
The Miami Herald reported that Brown is not paid for his public appearances at schools.
Problem teens throughout the country experience setbacks that are very similar to Brown's story. These adolescents may benefit from boarding camps, which provide a strict environment that aims to provide help for troubled teens.
