SUWS of the Carolinas is a therapeutic outdoor wilderness program with a focus on clinical intervention and assessment. While attending SUWS of the Carolinas, struggling teens become more engaged in their treatment than they may have in previous traditional therapeutic methods.

Often strong emotions, peer pressure, and a distorted self-image prohibit teenagers from understanding their choices and consequences. SUWS of the Carolinas' highly effective clinical program helps students identify their limiting emotional beliefs and destructive behavioral habits, enabling teenagers to shift their focus from personal entitlement and blaming to mastering personal responsibility and practicing healthy relationship skills.

As seen on Dr. Phil!
Dr. Phil has researched numerous therapeutic counseling options for families and their teens and has featured SUWS of the Carolinas twice. In each case, Dr. Phil has demonstrated how our program can save families and change lives.

SUWS maintains memberships in wilderness program associations, including the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Industry Council (OBHIC), the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP), the National Association of Therapeutic Wilderness Camps (NATWC) and the Association for Experiential Education. SUWS of the Carolinas is licensed in the state of North Carolina. Adolescents are often able to receive transferable credit for completing the SUWS curriculum.
